Better Together in Marriage

Better Together! We are starting a new series called Better Together that focuses on the relationships we have with each other and this week we will be focused on marriage. How do we have a good marriage? What does God, the one who created marriage, have to say about marriage? If you are single please do not feel like this a Sunday to miss church. Rather use this as a Sunday to better understand Christ through this sermon on marriage.

James: Faith Alive

How do we have faith that is alive?  Faith like what we see in the Bible from the lives of Abraham, Moses, Esther, or like our friend or family member who has a deep vibrant faith.  Could we have faith like them?  Is it possible?  If so how?

Jesus' Encounter with the People on the Mountain

We are continuing our series on Encounters with Jesus as we witness Jesus' Encounter with the People on the Mountain that completely shapes how we have life and defines the kingdom of God.

Joy

Blaise Pascal (French mathematician and philosopher) once said: "All people seek happiness. This is without exception. Whatever different means they employ, they all tend to this end. The cause of some going to war, and of others avoiding it, is the same desire in both, attended with different views. The will never takes the least step but to this object. This is the motive of every action of every man, even of those who hang themselves."

The intriguing part is that though we are determined to seek happiness or joy we as a society seldom are happy.  In fact, recent studies have shown that only 3 out of 10 Americans are happy/joyful.  Why is that?  More importantly how do we attain happiness/joy, the emotion that seems so elusive in our culture?

Labels Must Fall

This Sunday we are continuing the series called Goliath Must Fall by honing in on Labels Must Fall.  We all wear labels. Many of the labels we wear were placed on us by others - parents, siblings, friends, teachers, coaches, or coworkers. But what if we're carrying around the wrong labels?

Who has the right to label you? Who are you going to allow to label you? Who knows best how to label you? Labels create expectations and expectations influence the direction of our lives.

How are labels dealt with? How does this giant fall?

Fear Must Fall

This Sunday we are continuing the series called Goliath Must Fall by honing in on Fear Must Fall.  For most of us we have or are facing a giant of fear.  A giant that is causing anxiety, worry, and absence of freedom. BUT God has a better plan for you, a plan for you to live in victory.

In Goliath Must Fall, we will uncover a newfound twist in the classic story of David and Goliath. The key to living free from our giants is not better slingshot accuracy, but keeping our eyes on the one and only giant-slayer—Jesus. Put your hope in Him and watch Goliath fall.
